I’ll put it like this. Canes said no to pesce for nylander 1-1 back when that was a thing. What makes you think miller fetches pesce plus a first when the top 6 already looks set. Unless they try to develop 3 top 6 lines, it makes no sense to acquire miller.

I would happily take either trade. Good value.

Yeah if the Canes make a move to rent Miller, it's Necas and a few pieces to where Vancouver thinks its fair. But it doesn't make sense for them now to do that after picking up Patches and Chewbacca.

They do have 3 top 6 lines, and a really good 4th line. Bear is a decent defensemen and it looks like CAR won't be able to sign him, and he won't fetch much in a trade. Pesce has less value now as he is nearing UFA, but he will still bring a good return cause he is prime age, and then Bear can be 2nd pair and Necas can be re signed too. Miller retained has more value than Pesce so the first is added, and Dermott is a really good third pair guy, young too and on a cheap contract. You may not like this trade but it undeniably makes CAR an absolute wagon. Imagine their power play too. they will have two top notch pp units. and miller is good on the PK too. Overall I think this trade favours Carolina for sure.

You are so very ignorant of what Pesce brings to the Canes. Pesce alone holds more value to the Canes than Miller ever would. And your reasoning behind the acquisition is flawed as well. Maybe you should actually do some research as to why Miller will never play for the Canes. Because Canes fans are tired of having these BS proposals crammed down our throat.
