Canucks decline Muzzin is old and injury prone; garland is one of their best 5v5 scorers and is shined to a good contract.

If Canucks trade garland for a D-man they would look for one with similar AAV, Term, and Age. Muzzin is none of those

Garland is a depth forward not at all needed by TO and obviously is a contract Vancouver knows is bad since they are trading him every day. Muzzin is a top 4, physical defenceman who still is an excellent shutdown defenceman. I would much rather have that then Garland. He is not not worth his contract

The number of forwards the Leafs have that are better than him is numerous. He makes too much for what he does. The Leafs don't need to waste the cap space. Bunting, Nylander, Marner, Matthews and JT are all better. Kerfoot is just as good and makes 1.5 less. That's the entire top 6 covered. We don't need or want Garland. Send him anywhere else
