This trade is if Toronto goes all in. The value is based off what Fiala got but, I added Kerfoot in because I think Miller has slightly more value because he is a center.

Pens probably pass. Can't really say much until Geno is resolved, but we have 3 LD making 4+ million and POJ ready so one of them needs to go before a RD and I think Marino stays unless he's part of a deal for a JT Miller or someone similar that we just can't pass up.

Gotta add more for miller, especially if your basing it off a fiala return because like you said miller is a center, he’s cheaper and he’s also just straight up a much better player.

Fiala got a blue-chip prospect and a 1st. Miller would get Liljegren a plug and play young RD signed to a great contract a 1st and a 50 point Center in Kerfoot. I believe Vancouver fans overvalue Miller.

Pacioretty had 37 points the season he was moved and he is a winger. Miller had 99 and is a 1C with 50% retained. Fiala is a winger but he had 80 ish points when he was traded. Fiala value is a better comp because it is recent as well.

Like I said I don’t think Vancouver has interest in kerfoot which is why they’d ask for a prospect with him or take him out and add a better prospect

Yes but Vancouver has already said they wanna focus on getting younger and clearing cap space and kerfoot is hardly younger than miller and they’d lose cap space by making this trade. I’d say value wise it’s actually not far off but it doesn’t really help Vancouver complete what they’re trying to do.

Toronto will continue to lose in game 7s. You need to give value to get value. Miller is the type of player Toronto really needs. Miller has an edge to his game and is a leader. Not to mention high skill.

Fiala wasn't a pending UFA. Patches is a better base because he was. Also looking at a 1 year sample size is just wrong

this narrative is hilarious, every single game 7 has pointed to goaltending being the deciding factor, in every single game 7 theyve simply been outgoalied, even the analytics can back it. leafs dont need any more grit theyre perfectly fine that way and dont need to give up that many assets for a player who wont produce as much for them because he wont be given PP1 time

Miller has 1 year left. Patches had a 0.7 PPG in the 3 years before he was traded compared to Millers at 1.07. Miller is also a center. I think Patches is a bad comp.

You miss the point, I'm not saying he won't get more than Patches but comparing to a RFA trade is just completely wrong

I agree Fiala isn't the ideal comp but, I think he is the best comp atm. Unless you want to use Eichel as the comp.

Fiala was also an RFA (team control) Miller is a UFA, Fiala is younger, Miller has the open market in a year. Vancouver has been overvaluing Miller , yes he had 1 99 point season, ever other season he's 55-65 points that's what he is , he's a 55-65 point winger/center who will make any teams top 6 stronger but with no term and his decline years squarely in view his comparable trade value is patches

I guess the Leafs could just lose 1 more game 7, move Nylander for futures and then sign God mode Miller and give up 0 assets

Eichel and Miller aren't anywhere near each other in value, Eichel 24 with 5 years term and a bonafide build around player, Miller 30 with no term and not a build around player he is a very good complimentary player. He hasn't been moved yet because Van is asking too much, lots of teams have interest and are kicking tires on Miller but the return will be a 1st, an A prospect and mid level roster player

Apples to oranges comparing Hamonic to Myers. Dorion came out and said they wouldve done a 4th but he didnt have one to give so he sent a 3rd for some reason. In no world does Myers net a 2nd, not to mention Ottawa is looking to get better and I doubt Myers helps accomplish that.
