With the Jets trying to make the playoffs, trading Hellebuyck this season isn't likely to happen now. If they mess it up and Hellebuyck wants to move on, then the summer of 2023 would be the time.

I understand that but with a return like that they're set for the future and with lots of goalies on the market they can find a replacement (while not as good)

The problem is that the owner is very much focused on right now (and according to local media, he is involved in hockey ops) so he is going to look at the lack of sellouts last year, the lack of playoff revenue since 2019 and is going to get the GM to push the decisions back until the summer of 2023.
