JP doesn’t have better offensive production . What are u even saying. JP also played with McDavid lmao and Brown had more pts. Brown has been on a 50pt pace the last 3 years

Very strong offer for DeBrincat.

While it probably beats any of my NJD offers, I would think it falls short of this Sabres offer by @Shibbal18.

I agree , I saw that trade. I just don’t think Buffalo will offer that. Can’t see Adams trading Quinn for possibly 2 years of Debrincat

Edmonton counters with Kassian, Puljujarvi, and the 2023 2nd round pick for Brown at 50% retention and Ottawa's 2023 4th round pick.

You're undervaluing Puljujarvi or overstating the situation between club and player.

I think Brown’s value is very similar to Copp . Probably around a late 1st . I also can’t see Ottawa taking Kassian as Poolparty would be the Brown replacement and not our top 6 player

Then fundamentally the trade doesn't work. Puljujarvi is too valuable a piece for the Oilers to trade straight-up for a rental.

Daniel Nugent-Bowman of the Athletic sat down with Ken Holland and asked him about the Puljujarvi situation: the player hasn't asked for a trade and Holland isn't interested in moving the player for the sake of moving him. If Puljujarvi is to be traded, it needs to be an immediately-helpful roster piece with term. Edmonton can add to such a deal if they need to but the Oilers are better off just keeping Puljujarvi if this is all they can get out of the Senators in exchange for him.

I think it folly for the Senators to go into next season with a 21-man roster and over $12M in cap space without at least accruing more assets, even if they do somehow land DeBrincat.

Yeah, if Chicago is declining Quinn and a top-10 pick, I cannot imagine he is getting traded at all.

I had read somewhere that Chicago wants a center. Wonder if Pinto + 7oa + Lassi or Formenton would work.

If it’s Pinto + 7th and only a small add , I’d consider. But if it’s another solid player on top , then no thanks. I’m very high on Pinto . I also think Greig is going to be really good too

Pinto and 7th overall and either a 2nd rounder or guy like Lassi.

For Chicago, Dach is uncertain as a center. Toews done soon. Strome may also soon be gone. And they fact that good, young centers are almost never traded in this league, they’d be silly not to sign up for that.

Lassi has top 4 potential. He’s not a throw in. Neither is JBD

82 game pace wise, its only a 4 pts gap and JP had a better pace by 5G. In terms of defence they are on completely different planets

still no providing any argument for the defensive play. whether with mcdavid, drai, nuge, mcleod. He made his linemates better because of his defensive play. He goal share on when on the ice and he defensive metric have him as one of the best defensive forwards in the league this season

1. Connor Brown is one of the better defensive forwards around.

2. When your linemates hold possession of the puck more often, your opponents score less. That will look like successful defense in on-ice fancy stats.

Assuming both guys get fair extensions, I’d rather have Brown in most situations.

1. Where is that information coming from lol

2. Fancy stats largely account for that especially when a player has played on multiple lines throughout a season. he player from 1st through 3rd lines throughout the reg season and we dominant in possession chances for and goal share when heis on the ice with all 3 lines.

I'd rather have JP, he still has the much higher ceiling, is basically in line with brown offensively (except JP scores more) in what has been a bad yr for JP and is elite defensively by all statistical accounts. and unlike brown JP isn't going to be paid close to a bloated contract. Brown is a fine player but JP by almost all statistical metrics impacts the game positively to a greater level than brown ever could.

thinking that Brown is bad defensively is just actively outing yourself as somebody who has no idea what they’re talking about. saying that JP is “in a different world defensively” compared to Connor Brown is like saying that Adam Fox is in a “different world offensively” compared to Cale Makar. it’s just asinine

Well, we got our answer... 1st, 2nd and 3rd...

Not 2 1sts, a roster player and a prospect. Like I said, you had it as an overpay.
