He doesn’t, not to mention he’s not going to wave his NMC so these Panarin trades are honestly just dumb

I wonder if Anaheim bites and tries to speed up build with a breadman add, and some ufas, or possibly la. Didn’t breadman ask for ny/chicago/la and possibly Miami.

IMO, if Anaheim is willing to $11.6 mil a year to Panarin, and send high value assets the other way to do it, why not just start banging on the Gaudreau drum? Or Forsberg for slightly less (though it's rumored that Nashville has offered him 8 years and that they're getting close...)? Or Debrincat because his goal scoring/age better fits the timeline?

Panarin is excellent, and I'd love to have him on my team, I just think if you're taking that kinda hit AND sending the picks/prospects that would be required, you might as well look elsewhere.

Just my thoughts.

I’m not a Anaheim fan, or la, but possibly after kings last trade, might be just down to Anaheim and an attempt to kick rebuild into gear. There probably in need of some defense also. But panarin could be a key moving the arrow guy.

I would imagine if Dubois is willing to sign that extension, that the Jets just keep him.

My thought was the nmc and painting the gm into a corner, 4 years on panarin possibly better than 7/8 on gaudreau/foresburg. Possibly some change of scenery youth that are spinning there tires in Anaheim, going to need some cap, but possibly not a ton, so gain of cap room on the rangers could be as good as getting some value back. Ny never struggles with buying who they want in free agency. Not to say give panarin away, but room for a 6/7 million dollar ufa counted in the deal, would get some kicking the tires going. Not a Anaheim fan though, so not sure what the direction is?

I'd say the Ducks are looking at a 2 year plan at this point. I'm semi-surprised that they didn't go further down the Fiala road, as they were rumored to be in on him for a while, but were completely out of it when the rumors started up again yesterday. I'd be pretty into adding Debrincat, but we'll see what Chicago's plan is.

My assumption is that if the right long term addition was available, they'd have no problem using some of the assets gained from the Hampus/Manson/Rakell trades (Or at least that's what I hope!), but I doubt they'll do something just to do it. Verbeek hasn't done anything stupid trade-wise yet, his only bogey was keeping Eakins (IMO).

All a guess right now, but I'd say:
Year 1: If the right player is available, they add...likely take a 1 year dump with asset(s) attached, and see what they've got with the kids. Maybe stay competitive but likely miss the playoffs.
Year 2: Fill in the holes, raise the ceiling.

Got a few wild kids coming, would be huge to stock the cupboard a little more, ya I’m not a Eakins fan either, kids probably tune him out pretty quick or play rather frustrated. Few of the kids probably have a chance to be better with a different coach and voice. But probably canned in another year.

Yeah, I really like our prospect pool, but prospects and picks are for peasants. Aside from Z, Drysdale, Zellweger and MacTavish, Terry, and the 2023 1st (unless it's top 5 or top 10 protected), I'd move any of the other picks/prospects/young players in the system *in the right scenario*. Not saying that I'd move them just to move them, but if you get a shot at a talented played under 28, take it!

Nice thing about Anaheim also, if the team is built well, no free agents turning them down, everything else being equal. Bedard gift would have this squad on one hell of a run.

For sure w/Bedard (Or Michkov!)...Ducks are probably going to have to overpay if they want a high end UFA...California taxes have been a detterent in the past, but as they continue to build, it should be a solid destination.

Cup contender with that weather, flip flops to the rink and relative anonymity, should help with taxes. Seem to have sharks and kings syndrome and try to retire everybody or buyout, over trading for youth. But new gm and new kids, the pond should be rocking
