Description
The Leafs shift William Nylander from wing to centre ice to win a Stanley Cup in Toronto and commence the next dynasty in the NHL............Alot of oldtime Leafs fans will remember a previous bold position change when the Leafs shifted Red Kelly to centre from defence which resulted in the team winning their last 4 Stanley Cups and becoming a dynasty in the NHL in the sixities.

Dubas is flocked with requests from players to play for the Leafs at a discount to be part of a championship team in Toronto.

Too little for Paul and Copp, too much for Cogliano and Helm. Husso will also make more than that.

And I don't think shifting Tavares to the wing is a good idea. He's very slow, you need speed on the wings. And Tavares is better at face offs than Nylander.

Copp and Paul certainly won't take those deals. Nylander blew it last time at C. Where are Robertson, Holmstrom, Anderson, etc? Husso also will not take that deal

What better way to advance past the 1st round than try Nylander at center like it's 2017 all over again, just brilliant.

Nylander was absolutely a dominent centre in the World Championships a few years ago for Sweden and he is ready to take on an increased leadership role with the Leafs and become a dominate centre in the NHL and prove all his critics wrong.

The shift of Tavares from centre to leftwing will prolong and extend the career of Tavares by reducing his defensive responsiblities as his foot speed is slowing with age........He is a tremendous goal scorer and Nylander is a tremendous playmaker.......so this move is going to be incredible for both players and the Leafs as a team.

Nylander is much stronger and more experienced and up for the challenge than in his rookie year..........Need to think outside the box sometimes.

Ask yourself why Tampa shifted Stamkos back to centre ice from the wing?

Copp may very well take this deal.........He has concussion issues and he just is not worth much more.

Stamkos plays a 200 foot game, blocks shots, and finishes checks. Nylander is afraid to go into the corner with defensemen bigger than him. Stamkos was only shifted to the wing because Point and Cirelli took such large roles in the top 6. Does that answer your question?

Someone already thought of this and it didn't work.

Nylander is a natural centre and he is a better skater than Point, Stamkos and Cirelli and is being wasted on the wing when he can play a 200 foot game.

Position changes in the NHL happen all the time and this is another one that actually might happen.
