You'll get a 2nd for Georgiev at least. That's what his compensation would be if he was taken via offer sheet and there are definitely teams in the market or a goalie around 3 mil with his talent. I really wouldn't be surprised if Edmonton gives up a first but think at least a 2nd would be the cost. I believe there will be a bidding war for him.

There are tons of better goalies available in free agency, nobody needs to give up a 2nd for a guy who can't even play backup successfully at the NHL level.

How good the Rangers are next year is going to rest on the development of the kids. If the kid line and miller continue to progress then yes they can be better. And theres a very good chance kakko is signed to a bridge deal before teams can even attempt to offer sheet him. Even if it gets to that point (which it wont) the offer would need to be at least 5-6 mill per yr long term for the Rangers not to match. Anything under that the rangers can match and worry about the cap next year
