The Kings are giving up Clarke AND 1st for a rental in Bertuzzi. Come on, would you give up Simon Edvinsson and a 1st for one year Duclair?

Idk why people act like players don’t waive NTC’s or NMC’s all the time. I think Minnesota does that deal in a heartbeat. Fiala is going to cost $8m and Spurgeon is sitting at around $7m, to replace them with a quality top 4 defenseman at just $4m, allows them to remain competitive with this young core AND they get a 1st round pick this year out of the deal plus a likely NHL ready potential stud Defenseman? I could see maybe a TAD more going to Minny. But the deal makes a ton of sense for them.

I would not.

I also don’t believe Clarke is anywhere near the prospect of Edvinsson, nor do I believe Duclair has anywhere near the value of Bertuzzi.

Trades made in the off-season for players on expiring deals don’t usually result in “rentals” anyhow.

Usually the player who is acquired is extended immediately.

Bertuzzi is a championship player. He brings much more to the game in every facet than someone like Duclair, albeit Anthony has an exceptional shot.

Alright, if you believe an 8th overall pick and another first if what you’ll get for Bertuzzi is realistic I think we are wasting one anothers time.

Brother, where a player was drafted in the past has zero consideration in determining a players value in the future. If that’s the case, I should be able to trade a 4th round pick for Kirill Kaprizov because he was drafted in the 5thround….

This was last years draft man, many drafts analysts saw Clarke as a steal at 8, and nothing he has done this season indicates otherwise to me. If you are going troll, have fun. Just leave me out of it, I’m here for constructive and realistic conversation.

Spurgeon will never waive, that is a fact. Don't act like he will. Minnesota won't because he is their captain and they gave him contract and named him captain for a reason.

Oh wow, I didn’t know players who signed contracts were not eligible to be traded. 🫡

And Captains are off limits🙅🏻‍♂️😤. Got it.

Yeah because I am sure a long time player who was given captaincy and longest Avv in Minnesota's history will be traded. Oh yeah, Minnesota #1d will waive also. Got it. Players with nmc are rarely traded for that reason. He has a total nmc. He's not leaving Minnesota
