It's not super sexy but it gets us back into the playoffs that's for sure. I think I'd prefer a Gaudreau or something at $10m+ and signing cheap UFA/playing Bellows or Raty

Well he's worth a lot more than a cap dump, an overpaid under performing winger, a mid round first and a decent prospect.

Dobson is a RHD and he's better than Chychrun, has 4 more RFA years left. Chychrun is an injury prone 2nd pair defenseman with 3 years till UFA.

Dobson had a great breakout 3rd year. Not sure he is better than Chychrun. Maybe but not a wide margin. Dobson has to show he can do it again (I expect he will but players have had great seasons in a contract year and never been that good again). Chychrun has played on some brutal teams. Dobson has been on very good teams surrounded by top NHL D partners.

Chychrun is injury prone. He is not a 2nd pairing D. And his $4.6 million per is a fantastic contract. Wonder how much Dobson will get?

Dobson’s last 3 D partners have been a 45 year old Zdeno Chara, 39 YO Andy Greene and Johnny Boychuk. I wouldn’t say that’s being surrounded with quality D partners. At least Chychrun got to play with Lybushkin and Goligoski

Can somebody please explain to me why people on this website seem to think that Ottawa wants their goalies. Not that Varlamov is bad or not worth that cost, not saying that he is or isn't, but the Sens are literally already planned to carry three goalies into the season, why do people here seem to think that they want a 4th????

Bailey is a cap dump in this instance for sure. 32 years old, 44 points at a $5mil cap hit? Arizona has no need for him. Half a point per game forwards are a dime a dozen at much better prices and age.
Beauvillier got paid as an RFA on a bridge deal based on where they hoped he'd get to. He hasn't gotten there, and I don't see him getting there
