A lot of NYR ACGMs don't offer Georgiev a contract. I realize that's not the same as what the GM would do, but Vanecek went for a 2nd and I'd take him over Georgiev.

And I think Schneider is untouchable.

We can’t afford nylander. I’d love him but he’s too much. I also don’t believe we’re going to get rid of Schneider because he’s troubas replacement when we trade him.

Georgiev's interesting because unlike a lot of other younger goaltenders who've been traded/changed teams recently (Nedeljkovic, Vanecek, Driedger to name a few), Georgiev has a lot more experience (~120 NHL Starts) and he's been solid the whole time. It's interesting you bring up the #1 situation because his stats historically get better with less rest, and the stretches where he's been forced to play every game for an injured Lundqvist or Igor have been his best goaltending. So it seems like he gets rusty if you sit him and stays sharp if you play him. I'd say he's more of a #1 in that way, and goalies coming out of Benoit Allaire's teaching (Raanta, Talbot, Igor, Lundqvist) have all been exceptional and Allaire raves about him (that's the main reason he hasn't been dealt yet).

I don't think Willy's a fit here. Cap hit is too high without moving a piece like Trouba (Willy for Trouba would be close value-wise but Trouba won't play in Canada) and the positional need is C which Willy hasn't consistently played over a full season, or even most of a season in like 4 years. I love Nylander as a player and if this was a year or 2 ago it'd make a ton of sense but I don't know if it does at the moment.

Hardly practical for the Rangers....way too much cap going their way.

He’s young, had a down year but when he’s on his game he’s good. Just look back at when he backed up lundqvist and that’ll tell you all you need to know. Goalies need more time than one game every blue moon to keep a good groove going.

Oh I get that and like what he said, he seems the more he plays the better he is and that’s why I think he’s getting traded or something. Igor is your guy and really I think he he wants to play more then what he would get with NY. Id be also willing to throw in another pick or prospect to get him because he will most definitely play more here.

He’s worth it for sure, has low-medium risk, but high reward for sure.

That’s what I see in him so I think he could be a solid option and as far as a contract what do you think he’ll get in the range of? on a bridge or long term deal but Id much rather have a 2-3 year deal.

I can see a 2.5-3x2 as a “show us what you got” deal

I mean it never made sense to move him. He’s a young cost controlled Center on a team that only has 1 other top 9 C. Not sure why any folks would try moving him. It doesn’t make a ton of sense.

First off you're ignoring that you put kakko in this deal as well. He's not being moved. Secondly Schneider is not being moved . He's a defenseman with top 4 upside on an ELC, who was capable of playing in the playoffs. We need less cap hits not more.
Chytil makes 2m this upcoming season. Replacing schneider and Chytil with nylander is a massive depth downgrade. Yes nylander is the better overall player, but hes also been a winger for a while now, and has a huge cap hit in comparison. Nils lundkvist is the D the rangers likely move, for a comparably young center. Not someone like nylander.

Most of you had him in trades and begging to get rid of him.
