Exactly. Having to pay to move Dadanov sure, but teams would line up to take the likes of Roy and Hague. Easily could get a second for each. If attaching Brosaint devalues him then don’t do that.

I cant wait to see what Vegas does with Roy, if they don't offload some contracts like Dadonov and Brossoit then they are open to offer sheets on Roy. We face similar things with Yamo and Pool Party in Edmonton, players have to go, the endless Keith/Mike Smith retirement ACGMs are tiresome

MN has likely no interest in Smith. Its a very meh trade offer that offers little to the Wild. Devils fans continue to underrate Fiala and overrate prospects in comparison. Can't argue with them though because prospects are fun

It’s not that we’re overrating or underrating anything. Minnesota simply doesn’t have the cap to re-sign Fiala unless Dumba goes and Billy’s made it abundantly clear that that’s not happening. Minny gets a 2023 first rounder in a stacked draft, a cheap NHL defenseman with tons of upside and a meh prospect. That’s likely the best offer they get unless Ottawa is stupid enough to trade 7th overall.

-Both Arizona deals are weird - I can't see them giving up a 2nd and a 5th for Johansson/Tatar/Kuokkanen. They might take Tatar off your hands as a cap dump, but the other two guys don't have that type of value (and I'd bet dollars to donuts that Johansson has Arizona on his 10-team no trade).

-If Edmonton is so cap-strapped, why are they trading an RFA like Puljujarvi ($1.41M qualifying offer) for an older, worse RFA in Pavel Zacha ($3M qualifying offer)? That mid-round pick doesn't make up the difference in value - they can almost definitely bridge Puljujarvi at less than $3M AAV.

-Minnesota can easily find a better deal that fits their needs more - that team currently has more LHD signed than they have roster spots for them (Brodin/Goligoski/Kulikov/Merrill/Middleton) to the point where at least one of them probably gets flipped out for picks, so trading Fiala for a package centered around another LHD doesn't make a ton of sense. I think the value isn't terrible, but I think it doesn't meet the WIld's needs at all so they'd pass.

-Nic Hague gets more than that, and as a VGK fan said upthread, the Knights will move Brossoit in a separate deal if it means that they have to take a lower return on this deal. I still think they find other ways to free up the money before moving these RFAs.
