Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Just a few ideas to try free up space in different areas, think it will be harder to deal Barrie and/or Kassian mainly because they're 2 BELOVED people in the locker room, if they don't deal them, then in all likelihood both Pupu and Yamamoto maybe headed out the door to bring in 1 quality player making about the same as the 2 of them combined..
If you can make these moves, you're freeing up $1.885m in space and possibly use it come deadline time for a goalie, or 3rd line player should McLeod Holloway and Savoie not pan out..
Again just ideas with the minimal space they currently have-would love to bring Kulak back but the left side is so bogged down...

You have to pay to acquire Watson. He is worth more than his 1.5M

You have to pay to dump Kassian. He is worth less than his 3.2M, and has another year.

The pick exchanged covers neither of those.

With Kassian being a cap dump, you would have to give more than just a 5th round pick. Otherwise you're looking at taking another cap dump back in Matt Murray (with retained salary) or Nikita Zaitsev.

I would suggest removing the 2nd round pick coming back with Matt Dumba as well. Puljujärvi and Barrie barely equal fair value for Dumba. Since Minnesota is in a cap crunch, it could work.

This lineup would also fail to address Edmonton's biggest need in goaltending. Maybe they could offer up a nice contract for Ville Husso.

Dumba isn't cheaper, he's more expensive than Barrie. Puljujarvi is the most valuable player in the deal, that's a loss for Edmonton. The already have Ceci and Bouchard as top-4 on the right side, the whole trade makes no sense let alone overpaying for a player they don't have cap space for.

The only reason they would move Barrie is to clear cap space.

Minnesota declines easily. Minnesota isn't taking on jesse p or especially Tyson Barry horrible contract. Guerin isn't trading dumba and or adding for lesser players. This is bad for Minnesota
