Do you really think Kase's rights have value?
Maybe a 7th, but a 4th and 7th rounder?

And why would Malkin sign such a low UFA offer?

And why would all 3 RFAs accept those offers? Engvall is 27 yrs old and will get paid after the year hes had.

Kase has value bc he is 26. Its a middle 4th and late 7th round pick. Jets are in need of RW help and not paying much for him trade value and contract.
Malkin so low bc he is older and he is very injury prone
they accept the offers bc they are bridge deals. Sandin will take pay cut bc he is now injury prone and Lili proved he wasn't playoff ready and wasn't worth much more
Engvall will accept the offer bc I do not think his value is much more than 2 million.

The years are whats wrong with the RFA deals. They'll be 2 year deals. The AAV's are reasonable. Liljegren will probably get 2m.

Maybe, but they wont get paid in 2 yrs time. Bridge deals work when theres a bad contract expiring, but Nylander/Matthews/Robertson will get paid, Bunting and the starting goalie are next year. Engvall is 27 and will probably get 2.25 or more, both the dmen were unhappy with being constantly benched/demoted to Marlies, and the last 2 leaf players who took team friendly/bridge deals were promptly dealt.

Theres lots of league minimum/ELC that will need replacing and you'd like to think you'd be upgrading at some of those spots. Mrazek as a buyout will last 4 yrs and the cap will probably only increase about 1 mil a year.

Theres really no reason why these RFAs would take bridge deals.

Isles say no. It’s not even close to fair value.

With how much you undervalued players just take Malkin of the team and spread that money out to the other players you have listed

You realize the Leafs got Kase at discount because hes an injury waiting to happen? He made it to 50 games which was an accomplishment, but his injury history keeps him from having value or the Leafs would just resign him.

Kase doesn;t just have value because hes 26 yrs old and Malkin doesn;t have low value because hes old.

And youve just demonstrated reasons for not having Sandin or Liljegren on the team, not for paying them too low. Engvall is a RFA with arb rights, 27 yrs old and coming off a career year, he'll want what most players make after that production, he wont just accept it because the team has cap issues or you think hes not worth it

Brodie and Muzzin are coming off the books in two years and in 3 years so will Tavares.
We don't know what Robertson is going to be yet and Nylander will likely be dealt rather than re-sign with the Leafs.
Plenty of money to re-sign those guys in two years.

The RFA's don't have a lot of leverage here... Unless they get offer sheeted.
Engvall can take a 2 year deal and become UFA. Thats a good play for him.
Sandin and Liljegren have 88 and 74 games played... There is no precedent for a long term deal.
These contracts are so obviously getting bridge deals... lol
