I think they will run it back. That sounds like a terrible idea given their age/record last year, but how much of their struggles were just about Greene and Chara? It’s very possible a scheme change and some minor tweaks to the blue line will put them back into playoff contention. Because if that doesn’t work they don’t really have the assets to make a big move.

I think people really underestimate the value of Nick Leddy. IK what the analytics say, but losing those zone entries/exits killed their entire offense. If you can’t make a big move, I think you just add a new lefty d man and see what Lambert can get out of this roster. Even if you trade Bailey, Lee and Palmieri are still on the roster with full NTC’s so ur not gonna get significantly younger anyway.

Barry Trotz’s scheme usually has wingers sag down and gives up the point shot. If you can make sure your goalies sight line is clear and u have good puck moving defenseman you can get away with it. When you sag down low and have Chara and Greene on your team there is no way in hell you can break the puck out.
