I've thought about this too. I just never made an effort on here at something like that. That mid to late 1st round still has some decent potential. I'd like to target Isaac Howard if we can get in there.

I think it would have to be a draft day trade and someone they like still on the board, no?

This trade only works if Edmonton makes it to the cup final. The 2022 2nd Round Pick tied to the Keith trade goes to Montreal if they fail to make it. If they do make it, Montreal gets Edmonton’s 2023 2nd round pick, and Chicago only gets the 2022 2nd if Keith is top-4 in TOI in the cup final, otherwise they get Edmonton’s 2022 3rd round pick.

So confusing.

I touched on Keith's TOI yesterday and I don't think it's a huge hurdle unless he suffers an injury.

The only hurdle is whether Edmonton beats Colorado in a best of 7.

Sort of. They have to make it to the cup final and Keith has to be top 4 in TOI through the first 3 rounds, not the cup final. As it stands, I believe he is 2nd in TOI through the first 2 rounds for the Oilers dmen.

It's 2nd, but he's also climbing the ranks as the playoffs go by. Lead all Dmen in ice time last game.

All season those pesky Oilers fans were talking crap about him, and I just kept telling them "just wait for the playoffs, he is going to be a machine for you guys." Lo and behold, here we are. haha

I just don't see the hawks trading up by giving up multiple day 2 picks. Why pick at 31, when you can wait 7 more spots to draft a guy that maybe fell out of the 1st round. I think the most realistic way the Hawks get a 1st is by trading a player on this roster, a player in which we really don't want them to trade away.

Our odds of hitting are better drafting at 38 and 63 than at just 31

1. If you are chasing a prospect along with multiple teams and he may not be available at #38, you do what you can to trade up to get him.

That way, you beat every other team to the punch.

It happens all the time at the draft.

2. Arizona and Seattle each have 4 seconds in 2022 while Arizona has 2 firsts that are basically seconds.

Do you honestly think they are going to keep all of these picks and just watch quality prospects get taken by other teams before it's their turn to pick?

3. In my scenario, Chicago still has Minnesota's 2nd at either #56 or #57.

How do you figure?

Not every draft is the same.

Don't have the article pulled up in from of me but stastically speaking the odds of hitting at 38 and 62 combined are better than 31
