Honestly I would expect the DeBrincat trade from a Hawks fan, not a Jets one. Man, that is terrible for the Jets

Scheifele produces more points and plays the more important position, so wouldn’t be adding to him
Personally, I wouldn’t trade Scheifele for Debrincat. We have needs that a Scheifele trade has to address…RHD! Plus I’m not a fan of small players

If Buffalo strikes out on pure RD, I would consider that trade. If his contract was 1yr shorter I would do it.

Might be there value-wise, but CHI has no interest in Scheifele, and if you remove his value from the trade it is not enough. Why would a rebuilding team want to add a player who Jets fans can't seem to get rid of fast enough, is 29, and is incessantly described as being 'toxic'?

Mark Scheifele isn't waiving for a team headed for a full blown rebuild, And besides no way in hell does Winnipeg accept this.

As a Hawks fan, this just seems like a lose lose...lose trade. That's a lot for 1 player. Scheifele won't go to CHI. I just don't know what WPG is going to do with Scheifele either. He doesn't want to be there...He's being freaking little kid about it. Like seriously dude, Man the F up.

We traded up in 2015 to select Logan Stanley instead of Debrincat, so lets do a Stanley for Debrincat trade to repair the mistake.

I feel your pain.
DA Tim Murray traded up to get Asplund while DeBrincat was taken one round after the pick that he traded away.
Imagine if either Buffalo or Winnipeg had traded up to snatch DeBrincat how smart they would look today.
It is also interesting that Strome, McDavid and DeBrincat played together,
Strome taken 3rd OA, McDavid 1st OA and Alex had to wait until the second round.
Think how dumb Arizona was taking Strome and passing on Alex.

Almost every team that didnt pick Cat in the first round is stupid in hindsight. Haha.

Check this out for yourself, over their first five seasons he has ONLY TWO LESS goals the Connor McDavid and 23 MORE goals then Jack Eichel who was damaged goods but returned nearly 4 first round picks..
I would never suggest that Alex has the same value as Connor, but you are correct four first round picks is not out of the question.
I guess everyone is missing that Strome is also part of this trade.
