Perfectly fine moving Murphy and taking on Mrazek for a first.

I think it might take a touch more than that for the CHI trade. Maybe a mid level prospect or a young NHLer. But that is an offer that gets a conversation started. I think CHI should be making Mitchell and Regula full time NHLers, so moving Murphy would do that. I'd prefer keeping Murphy but Jones isn't going anywhere, so Murphy it is.

I'm in agreement that Mitchell/Regula deserve more NHL ice time. I just think we should get more for Murphy. Mrazek and a 2nd/Abruzzese is what I'd do alone...how much greater/lesser is a 1st vs a 2nd and Abruzzesse? I can hear an argument both ways. I'm definitely NOT opposed to a Mrazek/Murphy swap, but my out of the box thinking is for CHI to retain on Murphy and ask for the moon...otherwise no deal. We need to start our rebuild right...TOR needs to buy cap space.

Mrazek will cost atleast a 2nd to dump. Murphy should get a late first. Kubalik should get atleast a 4th. Hawks decline.

Canes pass. Too much for Holl when the Canes already have players who can play 3RD. Canes can call up one of Chatfield or Keane to play 3RD, or Cole and Smith can be resigned to play 3RD. Canes already have the options to fill 3RD, no need to make a pointless trade.

I can see the Canes signing Lyubushkin for their 3RD as well. And if a trade were to be made for a 3rd pairing D, a likely candidate would be Soucy from Seattle.
