Highly doubt Verbeek pulls the trigger on that one and also doubt Gibson goes to a Canadian team as well

I've seen this Foligno Kerfoot swap a lot from Leafs fans, but I don't see how it makes any sense for us. The GREEF line was one of the best defensive lines in the NHL this season, Foligno was a huge reason for that. Our problem is that we have a million middle/bottom 6 centers and no true #1. This swap just makes that problem worse.

Can't folks come with a 22 man roster? Reilly has NTC, I doubt if he waives. A big overpay for Gibson. Just sign the superior Campbell.

I think the loss has made some Leaf fans stop thinking clearly. Of all the players on the team, why would you trade Morgan Reilly?

Absolutely no interest in installing Jake Muzzin 2.0 even if he would waive his NTC, plus we could re-sign Alex Edler for less than Jake's cap hit, and we would probably get the same results without having to expend assets to re-acquire Muzz.

Anaheim isn't trading five years of John Gibson for a late first-round pick and B prospects. And before you say But he's been bad for the last three years, why are you trading for him at all?

Rielly isnt the type of #1D the leafs need. Hes. OFD puck disturber on the PP, leafs already have marner for that role. He lacks the willingness to shoot and a booming shot from the point. Leafs need a threat from the blue line and putting Rielly on the 2nd PP is wasting cap as it kills his overall effectiveness (I.E, the Barrie experience).

After watching the PP get shut down for 3 years in a row something has to change. Teams are covering each flank now cause its obvious Rielly is going to walk the line and just pass to either Marner/Matthews, which neither get lanes to since the top of each box takes out shooting lanes. Need to find someone with a shot threat so teams need to decide if they are taking away the shot from the point or from either flank
