Description
Don’t know the side pieces to the deal but Philly would be a team that has interest in Scheifele and Provorov has been rumoured to be wanting a change of scenery.
Elliot Friedman has also stated that the market for Scheif will be a huge and there is a possibility for a kings ransom so we will see what happens.

No matter what happens this off season there will indeed be a overhaul on defence. I guarantee at least two of the 6 regulars on defence this year will be gone. Most likely Nate Shmidt being one of them and Is Luke the be surprised if Logan Stanley is gone too despite all the development the Jets have poured into him. I see a lot of Dillon trades but that doesn’t make sense to me very much.

Like I said before, I don’t think the Jets should just trade him. Dillon is the literal mould of how the Jets should be playing. The Jets need to be better at committing de pensively and playing as a unit. Dillon is a solid defenseman who blocks shots, plays the pk and best of all, plays hard and physical.

Ya I wouldn’t argue any of that but his age and window is closing, so his best hockey maybe go to waste if the jets can’t rebound quick. Good example going forward, but the peak of his remaining value is today and a bargain at any point going forward. Some of our kids need to put up or move along also, but need a Fair opportunity on there side and see where they are at or have to bring a new plan there also.

Probably very little to no chance the Jets trade Scheifele and entertain yet another LD to clog that side as a main part of the return.

All defenseman can. It doesn't change the fact that he is a left shot defenseman and is the last thing, outside of a goalie prospect, that Winnipeg would look for in all likelihood.

Fans need to realize the jets won’t be able to return a top RHD. They will need to either trade for a prospect or try and get a guy like Provorov who can play his off hand if they want to improve the right side in anyway.

I think jets likely target a good RW for Scheifele

Right now defence is the biggest issue with this team. Not a lot of elite top right handed d up for grabs in a trade but yea, a guy like provorov has actually played his offside before, so it’s not a huge deal if he plays on the right side with jmo

if I were Philly, I pass. Not enough there to actually help philly

This is the first one for Detroit that i would say ok to. Better overall value. The contract has to get moved and truthfully he makes more than he probably should.

The Monahan deal makes 0 sense for either team. Calgary could dump him for way less than 2nd round picks... Why would Winnipeg dump contracts to pick up another contract they dont need? Just seems like a bad deal.. Plus your still over the CAP

Monahan could serve as the replacement centre on the second line when Mark Scheifele is traded. I also think he could bounce back in a new environment, also playing with Nikolai ehlers. Let’s not forget that one insane season he had a couple years ago. So I think it would make sense for the Jets, considering Cole perfetti probably needs one more year before he play centre on second line and nobody will come here as a ufa.

Also, with the flat cap still surrounding the league, a lot of teams are not in the position to be taking on alot of cap. Considering this, ur take that it will be way less than a second for a team to take his contract on is very inaccurate.

The trade of Shmidt is not only a camp dump… it’s because this team needs to change up their ways of playing the game (aka playing the game the right way). Nate is almost all offence and his defensive game is very non reliable. The Jets need a new culture of playing the game the right way, playing simple hockey while being committed defensively. That’s what they will get in balance players like provorov, Samberg and keeping a guy like Dillon.

IMO:
1) Toninato has no return value
2) Ject accept the PHI trade immediately, PHI doesn't though
3) Jets aren't moving DeMelo for a 3rd, he is too valuable. He is a better player than Dillon is

They play different styles of game. Once again, the Jets need bigger bodies who play physically. Or else they won’t change

That is far from the actual problems the Jets are facing. Not to mention that size is the most overrated thing in nowdays hockey. Big physical dmen don't automatically play good defensive game. Big dmen automatically don't play physical. My friend just take a look at Stanley or Myers, those are almost useless dmen. Pionk hits like a madman but is smallish. McAvoy is a small dman too but man does he play a good defensive and even physical game

I’m not saying Dillon is good defensively just cuz of his size. He’s a good defensive player who I had been one of the only efficient Jets d men to actually get body position on forwards attacking the front of the net. Also size is not overrated. When u look at all the Stanley cup winners over the years there is a trend with the defence. They are all big bodies who are efficient puck movers and can play a heavy game. Tampa’s defence is huge, St. Louis had big defenders when they won except Vince Dunn was the only exception. Washington continues to have big rugged players on their back end. So size is not overrated at all. I’m not saying that smaller guys can’t play physically or that they are not good, I’m just saying it’s good to have some balance. They already have jmo, Pionk, Heinola and Demelo and a bunch of other small guys. They get worn down faster so it’s good to have balance.
