The Liiga does not suck. Not sure where you get that notion from. Plenty of current great NHL players were developed there. Also Finland has arguably the 2nd best international team in the world (actually IIHF places them 1st but come on, Canada is still 1st) and pretty much all of those players had played developmental years in Liiga

Liiga develops less nhlers than any other league and their hyped picks seem to always flame out (Vaakanainen, Vesalainen, Ruotsalainen, Juolevi, Puljujarvi, Krappo Kakko, etc). I dont think i would draft a Finn unless he is clear cut numbed 1 or playing in the OHL or Russia

Well from that list you totally gloss over the other hyped picks that turned out really well like Barkov, Lundell, Laine, Rantanen, Hintz, Heiskanen, Teravainen, Husso and Saros. Puljujarvi has been good for Edmonton too. Kemell and Lambert will both be good players from his upcoming draft as well.

You can find a long list of flamed out hype prospects from every pro or junior league. Liiga doesn't have more or less of those kind of players than others. Drafting players from Russia is much more risky than drafting from Finland.
