Description

Assuming we are not on Schmidt or Dadonov's lists. Brossoit to mitigate against Van Pottelberghe or Hellberg not working out, and we can afford to bury him. I fully expect one of JVP or Hellberg to challenge and be the actual backup. A couple of defensemen on buy-low cap crunch bargains. Dadonov could be moved at the deadline to add to the return. Probably look for ways to turn this new defense depth into forward depth for call ups. Once Berggren and Veleno are up, we really don't have a lot of good call up options. Tried to sign a couple of minor leaguers with offensive punch.

If the Jets move Schmidt it would be to clear cap space, so they aren't going to waste a third of that on an unneeded rental. Make the pick a 3rd minimum and the Jets would talk.

I believe both jet and Wing fans agreed on a 3rd round pick for Nate Schmidt which is more than fair. Pittsburgh trade Yes Vegas trade is fine. No thanks on the Nashville trade.
