Hmmm, yes that is a problem, thanks for bringing this to our attention Mr Cap, I myself am not sure how we're going to handle a mistake like this, but to be fair everyone had plenty of warning to make sure there were no mistake made.

No... it's 4/4/1.

In pretty sure if you go the 8 skaters route, you can have any combo, so long as you meet exposure requirements. Im not 100% certain but let's get confirmation from ricochetii before dropping the hammer on anyone

As of now, unless direct quotation of ONLY 4-4 being acceptable is provided I'll vote that any combo of 8 skaters is acceptable as long as all exposure requirements are met.

I know we all have to decide together, but i have an IDEA. We don't have to do it this way, but i have a suggestion. And yes, when i said the expansion draft i meant to say free agency.
Here's my idea:

We pick a date for the expansion draft, and in a certain amount of time, we can make lists of offers for players we might want to sign, and then the team owning the player's rights can match that offer, and if the team owning the player's rights matches the offer, they get the player, but if they don't want to pay that much, the player leaves in free agency and signs with the team offering the most money. The only problem with this is how to decide the number of years the player gets.
Just an idea.

That's a solid idea, we also had a provision where Vegas gets one counter bid, home team gets two counter bids. Home team only needs to be within 10% of AAV on highest offer to retain, Vegas within 5%. The order of UFA retention priority goes: Home team, then Vegas, then the rest of the league.

Yeah exactly. Not sure if you missed any combos but not a big deal anyway. 8 skaters is any combo. period.

It is indeed 8 skaters. 4/4/1 is just considered to be the most common, as most teams don't have 5 defenseman they would rather protect anyway.

Two things Rangers. (and I'm not yelling at you or whatever, I'm trying to help)

1. You should organize your thoughts a little better instead of typing as you think.
Try using notepad, type up your post in there, and read it through to make sure it's clear.
Then copy/paste it into a post.
It's hard to follow sometimes, especially when you mix things up like the expansion/entry draft and free agency.

2. You HAVE to do a better job of following the rules and setting an example as a member of the BOG. If you are unsure of something, ask us first.
The trade freeze has been active for hours, and you're still trying to make trades/negotiate. It doesn't look good if the BOG can't follow simple rules.

Rangers. No trading or posting in team threads. Not knowing the rules is not an excuse. Especially for a BOG member.
If you need to check something, do it here before going and posting these things more publicly for others.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, the dates for roster freeze and expansion draft and so forth were posted what 2-3 days in advance of today?

If not sooner. We worked on it while the inactive GM discussion was going on. Why, what's up?

I was just wondering cause it seems like a few people had no clue when the roster freeze was even though I thought it was more than an early enough warning.

Well we had 30/31 GMs vote for the BOG, which took place after everything else was set, so L9 should have been the only one. He had things come up this week and may have missed something.

Just as a heads up, we might want to go make sure all players with NMCs are being protected in expansion. Looks like Detroit left Phaneuf off expansion protection list despite NMC. I'll look through the others to make sure there's no other errors as well.
