Upgrade on Defense and Coaching

Description
Most fans are in agreement that we need a new coaching staff and a change in defense. Have to get rid of Schmidt's contract and let Samberg play in Dillon's spot.

I would not trade Scheifele at this time as I believe the forwards are not the problem. Coaching (and maybe a new captain) is.

Dumba for a year I would trade the guys I have listed in the trade and maybe he works out and we are able to resign him.

I think your trades are realistic. Teams may vary but the value is there. I do think you under valued Svechnikov and Stastny, but that's not a big deal. Dumba is an interesting option, although he has been hurt the past couple of years. I think it may be an over payment on the Jets side, but i would do it. Good job!

The Jets don't have the depth to give up that much for one year of a player. Oh, and Minnesota will want more.

Minnesota isn't trading dumba. If they do, it wouldn't be tp jets especially for no nothing. Those pieces you offered does nothing for Minnesota, doesn't fill aby needs

Minnesota are in cap hell and will have to move salary. Minnesota will want more but will they get it?

The only way they get more is if they find a way to trade him at the deadline. Of course that is if he is available. If they need cap space at the beginning of the year. They will get the same type deal as you offered. On the flip side, i imagine that Minnesota will be in a top playoff spot for years to come and would not be flipping him at any trade deadline.

Good point. I'm not a Dumba fan, and wouldn't give up Gustafsson for him, but it will be interesting to see.

Well what you offered is nothing pieces to a Minnesota team that already has a bunch of them. Minnesota wouldn't trade dumba. Dumba us ready to take a discount being he just bought a home and moved in with his girlfriend. Minnesota doesn't need to trade dumba.

This is an assumption. You don't really know the plan our gm has. Also, those pieces you offered are nothing. Minnesota has 8 dman under contract next year and a bunch of d prospect in ahl next year. Also Gustafson does nothing for Minnesota as Rossi will be up in nhl next year and Minnesota will have no room

I am not disagreeing with you. Just to call those pieces nothing, means you don't really know them. which is completely fine, I couldn't tell you a single thing about players on the Wilds farm team and would probably say the same. What i will say though, is every team could use Gustafsson, he will be a very good 3C. Gawanke is going to be a very good 4-5 dman as well. They are not there yet, but they would be. In my opinion what was offered for Dumba here is an over payment by the Jets.

I think we could re-sign Alex Edler for less than Brenden Dillon's cap hit, and we would probably get the same results without having to expend assets to acquire Dillon.

Minnesota would keep dumba. Minnesota I'd stacked with 8d under contract and bunch of top d prospects. So with all due respect, no. Also might has Joel Eriksson ek as 3c and Rossi as 2c. Dewar or Tyson Jost as 4c. So those pieces fit jets, not Minnesota.

Maybe LA is not the destination if Edler is resigned if but a 2nd and a 3rd should be what the Jet should get in return.
