If Montreal turned that down, Kent Hughes should be fired on the spot. Jack Hughes is one of the best centers in the game at only 20 y/o, and that trade would be a fleece.

I didn't say that at all, just that we like what we have in Zuke and Price and Hughes alone doesn't move the needle enough for Montreal to move 2 of our best and most beloved players.

Zuke is another one of the best young centers in the game and Stillman doesn't even hold a candle to Prices value.

They literally have almost the exact career PPG at almost the exact age. Zuke is at 0.69 PPG and Hughes is at 0.65 PPG the gap is not as wide as you think it is.

Difference is Hughes came into the league as an 18 year old, Suzuki didn't. Check Hughes' PPG at 20 YO and Suzuki's.
Chara is a future HOF, Jumbo Joe is a future HOF, that doesn't mean they have alot of value. There's a reason why Seattle passed on Price in the expansion draft

they came into the league together, Zuke from OHL and Hughes from USHL, sure Hughes was 2 years younger and thus less developed physically but its not like Zuke was 6'5" 205 lbs either. They have been in the league the same number of season and both played for middling teams, they are very comparable players. I don't know why you are so offended about that, it's not like I said Hughes was a bust or sucked or anything. I just said that they are both among the leagues best young centers and the gap is not as wife as what you think it is.

Yes it is called Price and MB screwed with Francis's head good. They knew the injury wasn't as serious as they let on (career threatening) and they leaked that it was. After the ED it was released that he would only miss a month. The setbacks and substance abuse issues were not known or expected.

I see a lot of people especially habs fan, saying that the Hughes for Suzuki trade is unfair for Montreal. However I do see where it can come from. Hughes probably has 85-95 point potential, looking to be a similar player to a Crosby, but with less offensive upsides. Suzuki should be in the 75-80 point range and he looks like the next Bergeron. For a very long time in the league, Bergy was on of the most valuable players in the league. With Price in the trade (who is now not a ? on injuries as he played yesterday) the trade is much fairer then non habs fan may think.
