Letang is more likely to sign a shorter term deal with a higher AAV than go 3x$4M.
And those trades, man...the value is bad, and the destinations are bad. Winnipeg doesn't have a ton of cap room and adding a $4.5M AAV goal scorer who has 11 of those in 58 games this year (and will be turning 33 this year!) isn't really something I can see them jumping at the opportunity to give up a couple picks for him.
Petry has an NTC - would be surprised if Seattle wasn't on that list. Beyond that, what would the Kraken be doing giving up multiple 2nd rounders to pick up a 34 year old D with 3X$6.25M left? I think Petry has some value, but not to a team like Seattle that's still building up their organizational depth.
The Savard deal doesn't make sense for a different reason - NJ is strong on the right side, with Dougie Hamilton & Damon Severson already signed for next season. Savard would basically be RD3 on that team and I can't imagine they'd be happy spending 3x$3.5M for Savard's age 32-34 seasons - much less giving up a strong prospect in Nolan Foote to have the privilege to do so.
