That’s actually one of his better trade proposals, per CF Depth Charts, Gurianov is currently a healthy scratch and it seems like Dallas hates him, whether you like it or not, team situation doesn’t make him too valuable, you guys traded for Scott Wedgwood over calling up Khudobin… he’s a cap dump, Dellandrea and Poehling kinda cancel out and then there’s Petry who doesn’t have much value but who’s also not really a cap dump because he has value to us

Actually we traded for Wedgewood because Dobby went to hip surgery and is out for 6+ months, and Holtby also got injured. We literally had no other option.

I don't agree that Dellandrea and Poehling is a wash. Dellandrea's still developing as projected, while Poehling seems more or less stuck - otherwise he wouldn't be consistently being moved in Habs posts.

Gurianov case is interesting, but I'm banking on us getting a new coach that doesn't hate on good players. By default moving an asset who's not doing really well makes very little sense because you're going to compromise on the return so much.

Imo it's a slam dunk W for Habs and it's not even close. Yes I might be a bit biased when it comes to Gurianov but if our GM had any sense in him he's not involving him in an exchange that brings us pretty much nothing but trouble.

I'd very much prefer Edmonton adds the second round selection and gets an actual NHL player in return instead of Faksa.

My patience with people that think Barrie is some negative-value asset is at an all time low. He's the 10th-most productive defenceman over the past three seasons and shoots right. If anything, he's worth the goddamned moon compared to some of the things people think his value is.
