I don't understand this trade. We still have holes along the left side of our D, even less clarity on the 4th line and a big piece of our identity is out the door. Oh and one less second rd pick. I just don't get how we improve. I'm trying to stay calm incase another trade comes in but if this is it, pack it up gents were not winning a round this year.

I can't. Minnesota and Colorado notably improved. If anything Blues downgraded.

I figured Sunny would get traded today to clear cap for next year, just not in a deal to get worse defensively.

Leddy is an upgrade on Scandella fs
Mikkola a spot isn’t getting dropped
Sunny is the cap casualty so next year we can buyout Scandella
Lastly Walman would block Scotty P on that bottom pair so it helps out there
Also witokski adds that grit you wanted

I Hope so but god I really don't think so after watching MIN, COL, CGY, etc make moves to get better. I just see it as we downgraded and lost what seems to be a glue guy in the locker room with sunny and I think walman is better than Leddy but I could be wrong on that because we didn't get to see a lot of Walman but when he played I didn't think he was awful. I thought he was good 7D

Leddy is a downgrade defensively from Scandella (which is saying a lot). Walman wouldn't block Perunovich if he earned the spot. Again Sunny I expected to be traded. I wanted someone with grit who can actually play the game...Wit cant even make Detroits lineup that's how bad he is.

Witter was hired to mentor the kids in Grand Rapids. He's actually not that bad when playing on the wing as he's done in GR and the single game he played in Detroit this year (and also a few games last time he was in Detroit). As a defender he's useless.

On the Blues he likely doesn't even get called up. He just can't play good enough.
