Description
These trades are based off of the rumours ive heard over the past few days. A lot of points taken from Eliotte Friedman's 32 thoughts podcast. It is a real possibility that we see Knies or Abruzzese called up at the end of the NCAA season to provide some energy for the 4th line. I think it would most likely be Knies just for his size.

Unfortunately it is starting to look like we may have to let go of one of Engvall or Mikheyev. It is unlikely that we will be able to resign both in the offseason and I would rather keep Mikheyev. According to Friedman it may be Mikheyev who ends up being dealt instead tho.

How so, if we look at Chiarots trade, 1st and 4th = 1st and 4th, Hirvonen > Smilanic, + Dermott on top. The only thing I could see changing is maybe the 4th turning into a 3rd but it would have to be the 3rd in 2024.

Friedman's 'rumour' on chara was actually framed, by him, as an 'insane prediction'. So that's not a rumour, Chara is washed as hell.

4. Toronto GM Kyle Dubas continues to indicate he does not want to trade his top prospects for a rental. And, he does not want to move the team’s first-round draft choice for the third time in four years. We’ll see how the Chiarot deal adjusts the market. I believe Lindholm is the Maple Leafs’ top target, although they’ve also taken long looks at Giordano, Philadelphia’s Justin Braun, Dallas’s John Klingberg and San Jose’s Jacob Middleton. Travis Dermott and Justin Holl have been on the market for months, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Dermott is given a fresh start, regardless of what else happens in the next few days.

He may be washed but that doesn't mean he doesn't bring anything to the table. Will bring some physicality if needed and would be a huge locker room presence for the younger guys.

1. If you look at the trade it is next year's first not this years.
2. Hirvonen is our 5th or 6th best prospect rn, wouldn't be surprised if he is used in trades. Dubas doesn't want to use This years first, Knies, Niemela, and Robertson for rentals

He literally brings nothing to the table because he cant do anything but negatively impact the team on the ice.
You dont trade for a guy to be a motivational speaker from the press box

You do not want Chara. Trust me on this one. Lou ruined the Islanders with the Toews and Leddy trades. He then brought in two washed up turnstiles to replace them.

Lindholm is way better than Chiarot. Probably have to include Robertson or Sandin. I’d look at the Ryan McDonough trade to the lightning as a blue print for what you need to give up. Just don’t accidentally trade the next J.T. Miller. 😂

Next years 1st is more valuable than this years because it has a better chance of being a higher pick and it's shaping up to be a much deeper draft. And if your trade had hirvonen as the highest valued piece there wouldn't be a price issue

Funny that you traded Holl, "to a team that needs a RHD". Well that would be the Leafs. Holl has played well lately. Sandin has shown he's not good at right side. Leafs shouldn't be training him on the right side during a playoff run. Leafs really don't need a LHD.
Chara, Lindholm, and 3rd and 4th for Holl, Engvall, Dermot, Hirovan, and first and 4th . Should the Leafs be trading for Lindholm? Then next season just Brodie, Reilly, Muzzin and two unsigned RFAs as NHL Dmen. Doesn't seem like a good plan now, or in the future.

I don’t think I could do that. If you stand for nothing you will fall for anything.
