I imagine it's because he's young. He's a perfect example of a guy that if the Jackets like, they should just keep, because most likely no team is going to give up a ton for him. The package suggested by op on the comment is outrageous. He's not worth that.

IDK how much y'all watch Peeke, but he's a heavy minute shutdown dman in the making. Currently plays 23+ mins a night, plays the PK and etc.

He certainly plays a lot (about 21 mins/night on average), but that doesn’t make him great. He is a plug offensively, and his defence isn’t exactly game breaking either. His results this year have been disappointing, and I’m not banking on him becoming a premier DFD in the league (may I also point out Matt Roy as a comparable is not a major compliment. Roy hasn’t really been great in recent years)
