A potential Keith retirement and Barrie trade could open up some money but other than those options, it would be difficult to resign both. Fleury in my mind would probably walk regardless though.

Keith retires and trade Barrie that’s 1/3 of the d that needs to be replaced and that costs money so doesn’t really help that much. Honestly don’t think fleury is an option betting he’s played his entire career south of the boarder hard time seeing him move North now with his family.

According to a report from Chris Johnson last night Fleury wants to stay in Chicago and won't waive his NMC. So the long and short of it is, no-one will get MAF and a weak goalie market just got even weaker.

No, that's not what the article said nor does Flowers have a full NTC; he has a no trade 10 team list NMC. Chicago simply, regardless that he doesn't have a NTC, out of respect for him and his family won't trade him unless he agrees. It's not about Flowers waiving or not, he doesn't have the rights to have a say outside of 10 teams.

Either way, it seems like he is staying in Chicago. That was my point.

They're making around a combined 10M you could easily replace those two for less money
