Considering you are talking to a guy that was not a fan of Yzerman trading up to grab Cossa to begin with. Doesn't sound awful but, a more equivalent comparison would be for Zadina in that deal instead of Cossa.

Kings trade is really bad for Detroit. Let's keep our prospects. Don't like the Vegas trade either. Rather get a pic for Leddy. Other trades look good although I'm not sure we will get a 2nd for Griess. It's possible though. Allot of teams are interested in golies.

Buium and Wallinder do have a lot of potential but Wallinder didn't even make Sweden's WJC team this year so that really doesn't compare to Turcotte at this point. Look at The NHL’s Top 100 NHL Affiliated Prospects – Midseason Rankings from the Hockey Writers Association they have Wallinder at 100 and Turcotte at 9 while Buium didn't make the list. If they were 20 spots from each other you could make an argument but that is 90 spots between them. If Yzerman has a chance to make this trade he takes it and runs. Teams just don't trade away #1Cs and the only thing I see getting in Turcotte's way of becoming a #1C is that Byfield is in front of him. I do agree that Buium and Wallinder are far from scraps and saying that they are scraps is an ignorant statement made by someone who has no idea what he is talking about.
