I'm thinking back to the 1980s where this type of game was somewhat the "norm". The only difference between this 2022 game and 1985 game is the lack of fights in the modern game.

Why can't fans just enjoy the absurdity of last night's game?

They stuck it out but it was ugly.
Campbell falling apart was hurtful.

Mzraek should have the net to run with for a bit to me.

On the bright side, it was their best offensive game in the Matthews era.

But it was one of the worst, possibly the worst (I can't prove this though) defensive/goaltending game in that era as well.

Honestly it was fun and stressful

The good news is its happening now vs. April

Time to get him back on track as we have seen what he can do when he is in the zone (Pittsburgh game classic example). As people forget hes 43-13-7 with the Leafs including a 2.37 gaa and a 0.920SV that includes 6 shutouts. Last time we drove a goalie out he went to Carolina and is probs top 3 Vezina candidate rn.

Team defense could be better as honestly if they had played like they did periods 1-2 it would have probs been 10-4 easily. But whatever its one of those weird games that happens once every 10 years move on.

Besides without that game we dont see how dominate line 1

Fully expect a better effort against Washington and the game will probs play out like the Minnesota one did. Boring and low scoring.

Not gonna lie kind of want to see a bit more of Mrazek. As I know 6 of 8 on Saturday but he came in late and didnt really warm up. But game before only 1 goal on 30 shots or something lul.

It was 15 points combined from those 3.
Tavares had a goose egg, troubling.

Maybe Tavares was used as the centre on the "shut down" line.
