Description
This is my under the radar pick for where I think Boeser lands.

I think this trade covers what Vancouver would want as well as Nashville definitely has the cap space to afford him

I don’t see NSH trading Evangelista right now.

And as far as this specific trade is concerned, I don’t see the need for Motte in NSH. So the value he adds to the deal is negated by the fact he’s unnecessary (fine player, but NSH is stacked with bottom 6 forwards)— so remove him and replace Evangelista with someone else. I think that would be closer.

I could see a move for Boeser if Forsberg ends up walking— I wonder if NSH could afford both. However, if Boeser won’t sign for less than his QO, then I think NSH would look elsewhere. Expensive trade price and expensive contract— probably too much for NSH.

Yeh I’d definitely hold on to Evangalista personally. Boeser is a nice piece though. Maybe a trade deadline deal if Nashville feels certain that Forsberg will walk would work out. Get boeser then trade Forsberg and put boeser in Forsbergs spot. I think all in all the Forsberg return would negate much of the acquisition cost of boeser.

I wouldn’t be opposed to it if Forsberg intends to walk— but I have a feeling Poile won’t be able to let him go even if it means losing him for nothing. I could see another Suter-like debacle.

I just threw in Motte because every playoff team adds reliable depth pieces at the deadline and Nashville has plenty of cap to work with. IMO that part is irrelevant.

I understand liking Evangelista but it's very unlikely he is ever close to the level of player Boeser is. Since the coaching change Brock has 18 points in 24 games. I see a move like this as both insurance for Forsberg as well as gearing up for the playoffs with another offensive weapon.

I think the combination of what it takes to sign Boeser to his next deal, plus the assets needed to acquire him is too much, and NSH should pass. Great player, and the ask from VAN here is fair though. If I were more confident in NSH's playoff chances this year, I might be more tempted.

Do you think Nashville should do nothing and just get knocked out though? I feel like this gives them a push now while also being good long-term.

I think the idea of being afraid of Boesers next contract is clouded by Vancouver's current view. They arent competing for some time so his next contract looks rough for a non-contender. Whereas a team like Nashville Boeser fits their timeline. Laine is also in a similar boat in Columbus, however I think he would cost more

I think NSH shouldn't do much at the deadline, and take their chances in the playoffs with the current lineup (maybe a small tweak or two like a 4C to replace McCarron). It might be different if the Preds were bereft of talent on the wings, but they have a lot of quality depth coming up in the next few years already (Tomasino, Tolvanen, L'Heureux, Evangelista, Afanasyev, etc). I don't know that a player like Boeser is absolutely necessary, and the cost involved (futures needed to trade for him, and the next contract) are a bit more than what NSH should consider.

Not sure how reliable of a source Strickland is but apparently Nashville is actively shopping Forsberg now

Just saw that too. I have no idea about Strickland's credibility one way or the other either.
