Is Matt Murray still hated in Ottawa? Just curious I’m making a new TDL for the Oilers and I got couldnt really figure out his value. I know he’s been good the past 10 games ish.

i dont think he was ever hated he just stunk for a bit. Id still move him but no interest in retaining salary

He’s been great actually but to be fair the defence and defensive system has improved tremendously . So I’d say it’s a mix of better goaltending and better defence . But he’s been good, still can get injured often tho

im no way are the avs adding a draft pick for Ennis and Forsberg as a return for Compher. I wouldnt trade Compher for those 2 rentals regardless

honestly wasnt sure what he was percieved as, heard people think hes overpaid so wasnt sure if the avs wanted to get out from the contract

So say Edmonton offered Lavoie, Savoie, Koskinen and Turris for Murray, JBD and Foresberg who adds or is it fair as is just a good old hockey trade? I’m just wondering if Koskinen and Turris’ negative value compensate for Murray’s value with 2 years left and $15M owed. And does Lavoie and Savoie make up for adding Foresberg and JBD.

I don’t think I’d trade JBD unless it’s in a package for a top 6F. Not into a prospect swap tbh. Also doubt Ottawa is moving 2 goalies in 1 deal

I mean im fine with taking on contracts to offset murray but im in the same boat as @csick in that im not moving both goalies at once, or JBD unless its for a now roster upgrade. also savoie is really good dont think the oilers should trade him

Compher is only perceived as overpaid by many because he had a slightly rocky year, and with the covid cap having hit. Otherwise he'd probably be thought of as a pretty standard 3RW who can PK, jump to centre if needed and play up the line up a bit in case of injury. Not special but solid with a lot of utility.

Avs decline btw. He has more value alone than both those pieces imo.
