Description
Continuing my post from yesterday. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3076454 just wanted to expand it to include the team this season post deadline.

MIN
  1. Tierney, Chris
Détails additionnels:
Someone will want him. There was some scuttlebutt than Minny might be interested, so here ya go.
2.
OTT
  1. Choix de 3e ronde en 2023 (BOS)
BOS
  1. Sanford, Zachary
Détails additionnels:
Maybe a 3rd is slightly optimistic, but I don't think it's unreasonable. Big body depth scorer with a history of performing when the chips are down, as Boston should definitely remember. Plus he's a Massachusetts kid for what that's worth.

OTT
  1. Choix de 5e ronde en 2023 (TOR)
TOR
  1. Brown, Joshua
Détails additionnels:
I mean... 6'5, 220ish physical RHD. He's ass, but that's never once stopped a team from picking these types up at the deadline. Picked Tronna because they feel like a team that could use one of those.
4.
OTT
  1. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (NYR)
VGK
  1. Forsberg, Anton
Détails additionnels:
The numbers speak for themself this season. 23 games, 2.78GAA .916 sv% on a bottom 5 team this year. At just 900K he's got to be one of the top options available for teams looking for Goaltending depth heading into the playoffs. A 3rd is totally reasonable, and Vegas could definitely use an upgrade on Brossoit.
5.
OTT
  1. Konecny, Travis
Détails additionnels:
Why I think it works from a Flyers perspective: they seem willing to be sellers this season, and I think they get a lot here to help long term.

Comparing it to the Toffoli deal, Bernard-Docker is a former 1st round defensive RHD with top 4 upside, who is ready to step into an NHL lineup. I think it's totally fair to put his value as comparable to the 1st MTL got from CGY which could be early 20s.

Jarventie is a 19 year old 6'3 winger with a powerful stride and a really good shot. Still really young so he obviously needs to fill into his frame, but he's already playing well in the AHL (0.56P/GP) as a teenager. Again I think it's reasonable to put him roughly comparable to Emil Heineman who is older and still in Europe.

The rest of the deal, A 2nd is definitely more valuable than Pitlick and a late pick, because Konecny is more valuable than Toffoli.
PHI
  1. Bernard-Docker, Jacob
  2. Järventie, Roby
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (OTT)
Détails additionnels:
Posted this the other day, and it was met with a positive response from fans of both teams.

Getting it done at the deadline vs the off season seems like the preference for Dorion, as he wants to be able to build chemistry and momentum down the stream and into next season.

Fair. Just picked Toronto because they're softer than a ghost's kiss. Could easily be another team. Not gonna change it though, because frankly I don't want to.

The values look good, I like the Philly trade for both sides (not a fan of either team) and that's good break down of the pieces involved.

Feel like the Sens could get a third or second for Tierney. Isn't he capable of being a top 6 centre?

Lyub is the Leafs depth rd guy. I wouldn't play Brown over him or Holl to be honest.

For the Konency trade, if I'm the Flyers I would be hesitant to accept that. Konecny is a top line forward and has a second liner salary for another three years after this season. I doubt they're itching to sell him at any point, so you're already looking at an overpayment in order to pry him out of Philadelphia.

You'd have to think a first would be involved in a deal. I'd put the 2023 first with lottery protection up, since the Senators should be in the playoff race by 23-24 at the latest.

As a Philly fan, I’m intrigued. It sounds in the ballpark. My opinion on specifics may hinge on what we get for Giroux.

As a Flyers fan, I value TK and am not eager to move him. However, I can envision a scenario where we bring in a big name (Gaudreau) and might want to convert TK’s cap hit into defense. For that reason, I’m listening to this offer. Not completely sold, but listening.

As a flyers fan if I'm trading Konecny I think we need to get someone who is playing now, Example being like Fiala or Boeser and I'm not a huge fan of Bernard-Docker either tho I do like Järventie. Though I don't think its an awful offer

Boston already has Debrusk and Foligno playing LW4 because wing is so crowded. No room for another bottom 6 wing.

Tierney definitely would have been worth a 2nd or 3rd a couple of years ago, arguably a 2nd and 3rd. He used to be a really strong PK 3C who consistently gave 40ish points in the bottom 6. He used to be a real value player at his cap hit.

He had a back injury towards the start of last season, and played through it. I don't really know specifics of it, but he hasn't been the same since. He used to be an effective two way guy, but now he's not as engaged defensively and offense literally dies on his stick. I think Ottawa gets something for him, but they're really trading on his reputation from previous seasons.

Why don't you like JBD? Seems like a great fit for Philly imo. He's a smooth skater, a really smart and efficient defensive Dman, and he's an RHD who should be ready for NHL minutes by next season. Seems like that fits in perfectly for the Flyers, given the state of their right D side.

The flyers need someone who can run an efficient powerplay and breakout. We need scoring and don't get it. Because of that, we end up getting pinned in the defensive zone for extended periods of time. Tired players = Goals against. JBD is a good young d man just don't think he should be the who the flyers look for on the right side
