No we don’t, while I don’t think Chiarot and Lehkonen will get as much as they’re allegedly getting, I’d easily take Chiarot, Lehkonen, Harris and a 3rd over Braden Schneider

I think Chiarot is worth a 2nd + prospect ( I can definitely see a dumb GM give up a 1st though, he’s exactly the kind of guy GM’s can overpay for ) and Lehkonen maybe like a 3rd + prospect ( there again I can see overpayments as he’s the perfect 3rd liner )

I agree with you on Lehkonen and have been saying the same, but I personally think Chariot is worth LESS than Lehkonen. I'm honestly not sure who GM's perceive him, but he's a bottom of the league dman and every major analytics guy has been proving that out like crazy lately.

So what are the Rangers getting out of this deal?

1) A mediocre RENTAL dman
2) A solid 3rd line winger
3) An OK prospect
4) A 3rd round pick

What are the Habs getting? A stud RHD prospect. I'd argue that #1 RHD's are the hardest thing to come by in the NHL, so to get a high-end RHD prospect? I think this is more than fair.

Chariot isnt a big enough upgrade over Schneider to warrant that deal, and the Rangers dont need more average prospects. If they trade one of Schneider or Lundqvist- its going to be for an impact player- not average 2nd pairind dman on an expiring contract.

but somebody will over value Chariot for a cup run- just dont see it being NY as their window is wide open, more likely its a team whose window for a cup is closing (Boston,Washington,Vegas)
