Nucks want cap flexibility. That trade doesn't really do that for them. Thats why they dont want Chytil involved in the NYR trade.

I think we’re trying to keep/sign Pysyk

The right side of our defense needs an overhaul...I think the left side is set with the addition of Power later this season. Bryson is no better than 4th on the left side and Fitzgerald 4th on the right side. Pysyk isn't the answer in my opinion as the 3rd RHD should be a muscle type of guy like Gudbranson. He's a UFA so pay him a little more than he is getting now. The key is getting a top 4 RHD and that will have to come by trade. Mattering where we draft I wouldn't be surprised if they go RHD with that first pick if we draft 5-8.

I'd say yes, it wouldn't prevent us from resigning Pysyk at year's end. Murray isn't even under contract next year either.

They might not have a choice but to take back Chytil in a Rangers offer. At least Chytil's QO is only 2.6M the season after

i mean they dont HAVE to trade with the Rangers. I bet they just hold on to him till the offseason when more teams are involved. His value wont diminish since youll be dealing with teams that will want to resign him maybe too.

Exactly, maybe buy low right now but sell high in a year or two hopefully if he can rebound a bit in a different market

With the amount of cap space this team will have plus what we assume will be and influx of ELC's they could give a player like Gudbranson as an example 3x2 (that's a 1mil raise) and not feel it or hurt them in the future. I use Gudbranson bc this team needs some physical presence and protection on this team. I'd also like to get Kolesar to center the 4th line and another physical winger for the 4th line. As for the top 4 RHD we can use one of the lower first rounders probably Florida's to help acquire one.

Especially when we know Pysyk can be a useful player
Heck…. We could always keep Pysyk & then try to get Gudbranson (or whoever) as well
