Why would Petry waive for Buffalo? As of now both Dallas and Detroit have interest in Petry they're the only 2 teams mentioned as of now.

Why wouldn't he waive? I think he'd waive for any US team, and Buffalo is not too far away from his native Michigan and they have really good future pieces. Where did you see Detroit and Dallas having interest?

Petry wants to play in the states. If he's not also willing to be flexible, then why make the effort to get him there?

Eric Engles mentioned Dallas and Detroit having strong interest in Petry plus several pieces. Just google jeff Petry rumors and it mentions both teams.

Because his wife and kids are staying in Michigan for the long haul, So he's not going to waive for a team that's thousands of miles from them like Dallas. Just because he wants to play in the States doesn't mean that he'll waive to any American team pretty sure he wants to play on a contending team.

What he means is that the options are already limited. If he wants to get out, he can't afford to be picky.

Hope he goes to Dallas, Because honestly i want Petry nowhere near Detroit we already have a future better D core with Seider and Hronek, And Edvinsson/Wallinder/Johansson some pretty nice pieces coming up.

The issue isn't about where he's playing. It's that crossing the border is a pain for his family right now, so they won't be coming to Canada any more (until something changes.

With a $6,000,000 and 7 points for the season, IMO Karmanos would offer no more than his favorite player Future Considerations.
Future is very flexible and play any position including GK.
Pysyk ($900,000), Jokiharju ($2,500,000) are at least the equal of Jeff now and Buffalo would be saddled with Jeff's contract until 2025.
We will see what Montreal will get for Jeff, but IMO not very much.
