Braun is among the many defenceman traded to the Leafs on a daily basis on this site that are not upgraded over anything we have. Same with Lyubushkin. Unless you get Severson or Klingberg, you aren't really upgrading anything and just adding depth.

If you want Hagel the formula is a 1st + Top Prospect + something else. This isn’t that, in fact I would be very angry if this trade happened because of how late the pick likely is.

Need to make the prospect much better than a 22 year old sophmore in college playing against kids.

Hawks decline and will get better and already likely have for Hagel if they determine to move him.

Keep in mind, Hawks have no need for Dermott as they have either younger, cheaper, better or all the above players/prospects with a logjam at the position on the left side. Stillman, C Jones, Galvas, Beaudin, Kalynuk, Vlasic, Kaiser....you can see the last thing the Hawks need is another bottom line LHD man with 2nd line upside. Quite literally as such, Dermott would be viewed by Chicago as a cap dump and thus have negative value to Chicago.

Respectfully disagree with you this point - Braun imo is a large upgrade on Holl. Admittedly i do not watch many Phi games - however the games that I did catch he plays solid defense and can move the puck.

Most important thing I notice is he does not seem to panic.

Based on the current proposal in the OP, it would likely be the shortest tenure a GM has held in NHL history.

Hagel would start with Robertson/Amirov + 1st.

I'd prefer Amirov, but they're both A prospect for sure.
