Columbus only reason for the trade is wanted a bit more size in the line up. Could find a different target but having Drouin on the left side of Leon didn’t want a small soft body on the right side so kinda just don’t see a spot he can play an effective role once pushed out of top six. Roslovic I see being more effective on a third line role and having a right handed guy that can take draws is a nice luxury for woodcroft. I don’t see being a high priority to resign more of a renting situation could recoup an asset at draft being an rfa. Depending on what else needs to be involved could look elsewhere.
Philly is just insurance policy’s. Tricky aspect to this one is getting Jones threw waivers. With smiths health being questionable want a veteran third string goalie in the system to back up skinner if anything happens. The slight retention is to just make his contract have no impact on the cap unless being used. Braun is just to provide a right handed steady option in the event of an injury on the right side since dont really know or trust any of the lefties to move over in a big game situation.
Montreal very straight forward to get a first for Drouin retention appears to be the only way I see it happening. Tossing kosk in this obviously for Edmonton is purely a cap move but for the habs I see it being adding a layer in front of young goalies avoiding throwing to the wolves and avoids any internal pressure on price coming back this year.
