Islanders trade is one thats been going around the past few weeks & I think it's possible. However, I think Lou would want more from that trade

From what I'm hearing about the 2023 draft, I think I might almost prefer taking Edmonton's 2023 1st straight up. I think you might need a *little* more in that but as it stands, I would be fine with Varly for the 1st/Koskinen deal if it happened.

I severely doubt Edmonton would rather give up next years 1st over this year's mainly because it's Bedard's year next year, and even tho they wouldn't project to be as bad next season, one would hope, they would still rather keep their 1st for next season JUST IN CASE.....

Agreed on the 2023 draft. This year looks kind of lame actually, whereas 2023 is shaping up like 2015 - a watershed of talent.

I would think the condition would read something like "if Edmonton misses the playoffs this becomes the 2022 2nd + the 2023 2nd" rather than giving up potentially a BETTER pick if they don't make the playoffs.

I would have no interest in trading for a 1st and then not getting a 1st. I think the 23 pick could have like top 5 protection for bedard and if not an unprotected 24 1st
