Technically that’s not true. Perlini and a few others are on contracts past ELC however I’d have a really hard time considering even as a valued contract when can’t even stick on a 4th line role.

Ya which I guess counts as an nhl contract but not sure should. Personally wouldn’t count any that are RFA years. More interesting to look at valued Ufa years.

That Suzuki extension is looking a little...questionable...

I liked it as a Sens fan with Norris heading into a contract year. Now looking at their respective seasons I'm not loving it nearly as much.

Yaaaaaaa. It's funny how the old handcuffs will come out regardless of how good it seems at the time...look at the Rangers for next year! At least you know that Eugene will nickle and dime him until the end of time though, and at least the crappy contracts (Murray/Zaitsev) will be gone by the time that everyone is really getting paid.

For the record I don't think it will actually be a problem. Just that heading into the season it looked like the contract would serve as a ceiling for the Norris extension, but with Norris stepping past Suzuki this year (at least offensively) it's entirely possible he ends up higher than this deal.
