Why on earth would the Pens make that trade? They don't need either one of Sanford or Brown and they're sure as hell not worth giving up a 1st for.

a 7th rounder for Ennis? I guess it would be better to let Protas/Leason to play in the AHL than to stay scratched, and I do want Cholowski gone. I guess I would say yes.

They make that deal because they're ridding themselves of Zuckers 5.5 mil next year. Add in the retention on Sanford and Brown and I've seen less get a 1st...

Oh I realize that. Lol. But if I don't add that comment, I'll get a million back telling me there's "no way he's waving to go to OTT"...

totally understand that smile - Every off season I get the "No way x player signs with Toronto... Why do all Toronto fans think that all players will sign with them?". - 2 days later that player signs in Toronto. hahaha

Thanks for your input...Why is it brutal? Sanford is an equal player to Zucker. Would cost a 1/5th of what he does and this leaves PITT money in the summer to help in resigning Letang Malkin and Rust, as both Sanford and Brown are UFAs.

I also assume that you can get a 4th or 5th for Ennis. 7th is very low ball from you (which i assume you did to not overvalue your own players) and Tierney can probably pull more than a 4th also,

Sanford and Zucker aren’t equal players lol. Zucker is way better than Sanford who is a 4th liner at best and has minimum value. Zucker has some value still. He isn’t a cap dump. The only thing he had trouble with is scoring and that’s cause he was dealing with the same injury Crosby was dealing with last season. And Brown is a 7th defenseman.

I'm coming from the perspective of Ennis not being an ideal add for someone at the deadline. Not a typical playoff guy, if you know what I mean. I have Sanford a more valuable because of that. Tierney bears the brunt of a lot of sens fans criticism, but he should be good in a 4th line checking role. That type of depth usually fetches a 4th or lower...and ya also I don't like to over value my players...haha

No worries man, Sandford is dog s***. Pitts isn't giving up a first to acquire him.

Eniis is a smaller guy but he never stops coming. Guy works hard. At least he did a few years ago when he was with the Leafs. Super high energy, super hard worker, and has skill. Great depth guy.

plus at this point of his career he knows his role. Which is super important come playoff time.

Zucker: 13 pnts in 31 gms. Playing with some of the best players in the world. Sanford: 12 pnts in 40 gms. Playing in the bottom 6 on OTT. Sanford has significant value. And the majority of what I've been reading is saying Zucker will be a cap dump...maybe not at the deadline tho...

Zucker isn't a bad player, he's miles better than Sanford and even if they need to dump his contract, it won't cost a 1st.

Brown isn't needed by the Pens. He wouldn't crack the roster on a regular basis.

He has one less point than Zucker this year, playing for a much ****tier tm. He is not Dog ****. Has a good release can move and has size. Everything you want for a playoff run. You don't have to go back very far to see how valuable he was to STL when they won...

Cheap depth on D is never bad for a dee playoff run. I've seen PIT dump 1st rders for much less...haha. TOR dumped one for a season of Marleau....etc etc...

So what? That doesn't mean Hextall will do it. He and Burke have explicitly stated they're not looking to move high-round picks.

Yea because he'd definitely would want to sign with that dumpster fire of an organization and throw away the last few years in which he can still be productive

You're just another classic case of a fan over valuing their own players. No worries I've seen it before. Hope your dreams of getting assets for Zucker come true...

Either you have selective reading comprehension or you just can’t. And I’d hardly call Jeff Carter, ERod, and Kapanen “some of the best in the world” caliber players.
