Quoting: kingkanuck
Even without retention I don't think you're getting Miller for that.
Lundkvist is in the AHL.
Problem player Kravstov has greatly reduced his value.
Pajuniemi hasn't cracked an NHL roster.
So keep Kravtsov, and try Schneider, Pajuniemi and a first with no retention.
If you want retention add Othmann.
Lundkvist+2022 1st+ Krav+ Paj is a pretty good deal for Miller w/ retention...can even make the argument NYR are giving too much- but the TDL market and VAN's negotiating abilities will set the real price Miller goes for (if he is, in fact traded).
While correct that Lundkvist is playing in the AHL, make no mistake- he is an NHL player. He still projects as a top 4 Dman, and right handed PP QB...and might even be an absolute stud. His only problem with NYR is that Fox, Trouba, and Schneider are in front of him...otherwise he would be about as available as Hoglander.
As far as Krav...can understand the reservations anyone has with him...but it's not his ability in question. A little found maturity (fair enough to assume happens most kids-adults) and whatever team "buys low" on him MIGHT have a beast in their lineup...but yes- due to the obvious, he is a boom or bust type of acquisition.
Pajuniemi- his early development (I believe) was stunted by injury...but he is developing nicely. Still has a ways to go, but should he develop his D game, there is a good chance he finds his way into the NHL in a mid 6 role.
So between a 2020 1st, Lundkvist, and Krav...VAN is basically getting 3 "lottery tickets"...if any one of them hit (let alone 2, or all 3)- VAN stands to be the big winner in this trade a few years out. Add in another prospect who's developing as potential mid 6 serviceability, and I don't see how VAN can turn this down!
But if you want to insist on inserting names like Othmann and Schneider in there- then I guess you're not really looking to make a trade!
