He's become pretty useless during 5v5 play

That Bruins trade is ridiculous. I'd just roll with the current goalies if that's the cost.

Barrie is probably untradable with that contract. Like Ullmark but Oilers should sign a UFA goalie and not give up their lottery pick. All these Ullmark to Edmonton seem crazy to me. Why would NMC Ullmark leave Boston for Edmonton. He could pick a better location if he ever wanted to be traded......like Pittsburg or Colorado.

I disagree here. I think there's a world where Barrie could be useful on a team like Carolina. The proposed trade of Bear and Raanta (Without Retention, because a contending team isn't going to pay someone to play against them) for Barrie and the 2022 1st made a LOT of sense.

As for this, yeah no. Carolina aren't going to give up their already crucial backup goalie and pay him to play against them. Not without more coming back than Barrie

There's a few teams....like Carolina would should be happy just going with their current lineup. You're right, teams that want a long playoff run don't trade their backup goalie.
IMO Barrie was the worse Leafs Dman when he was here for a year. Just think there are lot better ways to spend 3.6m X 3. Don't want him at even strength and he can't be on PK

That was also years ago, a lot can change in that time. Carolina is currently paying Anthony DeAngelo a million to be babysat by Jaccob Slavin 5v5 and play both PP units. That would very much be Barrie's role. Carolina is a bit of a unicorn because Slavin can babysit almost anyone defensively, but there's a way to make it work.

Canes pass on this deal as retention isn’t possible.

I like the Arizona trade, Crouse would be a huge get for the oilers, exactly the type of player they need, just would be hard to get him resigned next yr with the flat cap.

A big overpay for Ullmark, especially with Skinner included, Skinner is the guy you'd want to take over the # 1 spot in 2 or 3 yrs.

Canes trade is pointless and a massively undervalues Barrie.
