Leafs trade doesn't make much sense. They are paying to move Nick Ritchie and Mrazek to dump cap, why are they taking a 3 mil qualifying offer of questoinable cap space back?

That Toronto trade hurts more than it helps Buffalo. You lose a capable player and pick up a bunch of crap and a late first round pick.

Kapanen was traded for a 1st and was 0.5PPG forward Olofsson is a 0.67PPG forward. Toronto also dumping two contracts in that trade, it definitely requires a first.

Nick Ritchie's buyout is better than paying a first for a team to take an entire contract and Edmonton needs a goalie

Yes, Oilers need a starter not injury prone Mrazek with worse SV% this year then any of our goalies. Doesn't change the fact that trade above warrants a first.

Teams know that Ken Holland is desperate for a goalie and the Oilers will have to pay a steep price for one. Either pay a first and a high end prospect for a rental goalie or pay a cheap price for a cap dump goalie that is capable of playing. Leafs would take on Koskinen if needed to help with the cap

or you know they can get Jones, Holtby, Halak. Literally any goalie other then an injury prone 3.8Mx3 contract that would bring more cap issues in the future

You think Jones is better than Koskinen? Halak doesn't want to be moved and Dallas has no reason to move Holtby

Thank you all for your comments.
I buggered, I meant to include 50% retention on Olofsson and Miller.

Very interesting, Leaf and Sabre fan both hate the Olofsson trade.
Go to https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2995858 there Robertson was included by OB16 and still some Sabre fans did not like the trade.
I thought that was a bit much and this variation was not enough if one thinks of Ritchie and Mrázek as cap dumps.
I like Olofsson, but Buffalo has other options at LW.
Ritchie and Mrázek would add grit and an upgrade at GK while adding a first and second.
