I think we should sell at the TDL. If we make it in, it will be as a WC and will be kicked in the first round by a powerhouse. Lets put in a good effort this year, and then make adjustments to put the team in a position to be a contender in 2-3 years for 4-5 years.
NYR fans - this is the only thing that the Canucks will take. Yes he is highly touted, but you are getting term on JT.
Motte, Miller, Halák, and Schenn moves can all be done at the TDL, other other ones can wait to the draft. Montour can be either or (Burroughs would slot in in the mean time if this is the case).

We will need a 3rd line centre again, I think Domi would be a good fit, played with Bo, heart and soul guy.

Took him 4 years to win. 3 years of playoffs before that including a finals loss. Lightning went to multiple conference finals and lost in 2015 before winning 2. Washington and St. Louis each took many years of being in the playoffs before winning. The notion that success is guaranteed or needs to be immediate seems pretty naive to me.

Go look at the recently deadlines. Nick Cousins, Nate Thompons, Namestiknov etc etc etc, they are all treaded for 4th and 5th round picks. They do what Motte does and in Namestikovs case is better offensively.

You are going to retain just so you can get anything for him, not that it adds value

He may inquire about trades, that's part of his job, but that doesn't mean he is going to trade young core pieces for an older player with a short term contract. That is the point. You can post any trade you want, its a fantasy sight, but if you're trying to be realistic, you have to consider these things.

ok there coga, that is where you're wrong, retained value is big in a cap league, sure he isnt the #1 target for all teams, but he still will be an addition that teams will look to get.

I mean, valuewise, it is fairly accurate, and its crap on the pot or get off time, and i would be suprised if he didnt entertain a trade looking like this.
