edmonton declines strictly on the basis that this trade destroys their right side up front. If there is a deal with the bruins with edmoton I could see an Ullmark or debrusk deal

I know, I'm just dreamin haha
Yamamoto would fit real nice with Foligno and Coyle
Kassian would also fit the bruins style perfectly, making the team bigger and tougher. Could be nice to see Frederic learn from him.

Yamamoto is the only real linemate for Drai rn. TO give him up for a offensive d-man (which the oilers are trying to get rid of) who gets turned inside out by Peyton Krebs is a joke. DECLINE

I mean if you guys want kassian I am all for it for one of those dmen and oilers return a mid round pick or something. we need to offload some salary to make a splash in the goalie market via either trade of FA (wink wink, Jack Campbell)

Reilly isn't an offensive D-man LOL. He's average in every aspect of the game. Just trying to get this money off the books.

He is an offensive d man. The mere notion that anyone would question that is ridiculous.

Also, the nerve of you to add a second rounder going back to boston…sheesh.

My point is that for an Offensive Dman, he isn't putting impressive numbers. You can downgrade the 2nd for a 3rd too. It's pretty similar to the Eichel deal tho. Not saying that other teams can't make better offers, but Boston can make a reasonable offer to the Yotes.

Because he doesn't play with the top line and the rest of the lineup has struggled to finish therefore he doesn't get points. If a defenseman makes a good play to setup a forward but the forward can't score, the dman won't get a point on the stat sheet. Same for Grzelcyk. That's the problem when you solely look at the points. Reilly is an offensive D and the Bruins won't trade him after signing him to a three-year deal just last summer.

I agree, but if you're gonna trade for Chychrun, you can't pay 5 LD at 2,75 millions+ a year. You need to trade one of the three. Forbort is too useful defensively and Grizz is too useful offensively. Reilly becomes the odd man out imo. Also, that 3x3 Reilly deal is bad.

I disagree with your opinion on Forbort/defense and Reilly's contract but yes, they should move one D if they were to get Chychrun which I don't see happening. Even with a top4 D, they still need a 2nd line center.

Yup they still need a 2nd line center, and with his comments on Cassidy, he isn't gonna comeback. Haula did a pretty nice job with Hall and Pastrnak tho. Not a long term solution but for short term I think it's ok with a 3rd line center like Coyle.

Bingo. You either take care of both deficiencies or you don't do anything. Giving up the future (Lysell and 2022 1st) while not addressing 2C is just shooting yourself in the foot.

A good 3C does not in any way make up for a below average 2C. The Bruins have 3 options as I see it.
1. Limp into the playoffs with their current lineup plus a tweak or two for a first round spanking while keeping the best of their limited prospects as well as 1sts in the next two well regarded drafts.
2. Half ass it by addressing only one of their two glaring deficiencies (top 4D, 2C) while giving away a good part of the future (Lysell, 2022 1st).
3. Go all in by totally mortgaging the future knowing full well that there will be multiple teams with as good a shot or better at the Cup than the Bruins.
As you can tell my choice is curtain 1 but I don't begrudge anyone the other choices or even a 4th option.
