avs won't trade nuke. his skillset is needed. personally i wouldn't trade barron either unless the avs could talk extension with giroux first.

PHI wouldn't want Nuke as a pending UFA anyways. Swap in Compher or Kaut.

COL isn’t trading Barron for a rental AND zero chance they move Nichushkin he’s a metric monster that has also started to score. Literally nothing to even discuss.

So take out Nuke and replace him with another roster player. I only added him for cap purposes. Also like I said on another post all these trade deadline scenarios are based on teams panicking at the deadline to add something of value that puts them ahead of their competition. If you think Colorado isn't desperate to win after Mackinnon's tirade after last season you are wrong. You want more proof of what teams do look at Philly and the price they paid to get Risto and that was just supposed to be to make the playoffs!

Why does COL need Giroux? MacKinnon’s tirade, bro you don’t know anything about the Avs if you think that’s the first time he has blown up about winning. COL is the top scoring team by quite a bit, they aren’t trading top end prospects for 34 yr old rentals that at best end up on the 2nd line.

Why would they need Giroux. Added security!! Great on face-offs, can kill penalties, can do the power play, has tremendous work ethic, wants to win bad! Plus you don't think by adding someone like Giroux it gives a boost to Mackinnon? I may know nothing about the Avs but I do know they want to win and they want to win now

In November it was all about getting a top six W. Now Avs are good. But what about if there are more injuries, tiredness? Barron is a top prospect but Helleson is also in the wings. Very reasonable trade

Sure Giroux could help, but the Avs aren’t trading a top d prospect for a 30 game rental. I’d rather see the Avs take a bit of a TBL approach and get a guy that is a premium 3rd liner locked into a nice price beyond this season in Connor Brown.
